About us

Protenic Kft is a biotechnology company founded by two researchers of the Institute of Organic Chemistry, HUN-REN Research Center for Natural Sciences, Hungary. The company develops new reversible covalent inhibitors in partnership with HUN-REN RCNS to combat inflammatory diseases and cancer. The company’s work is centered on its proprietary technology based on the usage of Michael-acceptor based reversible covalent warheads designed to increase protein target engagement and specificity. The intellectual property and commercialization rights were acquired by Protenic Kft from HUN-REN RCNS in May 2025 but the company and the academic research institute stay in strategic partnership.
